This was a double-bubble birthday treat for the EASIserv.com boys, as not only did The Cobbs play really well in seeing-off The Lions - but Head of Design, Neil, won himself a bottle of champagne in the post-match football quiz draw. Man-of-the-match and Cobblers' striker Scott McGleish, did the honours with the post-match presentation to Neil (see picture above, Neil's the one on the right). We don't know exactly what Neil said to Scotty as 'the shampoo' passed between them, but it was clearly something well out of order - 'cos the very next morning Scotty jumped ship and went and signed for Wycombe Wanderers. Quel fromage!
We wish much-travelled, fans'-favourite McGleish, good fortune with The Chairboys - he'd been at Northampton since June 2004, playing 120 competitive games and bagging 51 goals in that time, not a bad scoring rate at any level.
The good news is that Neil's still with us - which we're sure is a small crumb of comfort for The Cobbs management team as they plot their way through the murky waters of the League 2 basement. And by the way, Neil reports that 'the shampoo' went down a treat.
