EASIserv.com make no apologies for serving-up this tasty tit-bit from Channel 4's business correspondent Faisal Islam as he reports from Google Zeitgeist Europe 2006 conference in London this week. Larry Page (that's him pictured on the right) and Chief Executive, Eric Schmidt of Google participate in a Q&A session that's available as an online video courtesy of Channel 4. We've listened to the whole video which lasts a little over 30 mins (it says that it's the full Q&A but it looks a bit edited to us) - click on this link to watch and listen in.
It's really interesting to hear Larry Page talk and his manner is that very understated demeanour often seen in folks with brains the size of a planet. This guy doesn't come across as a 'blowhard' - that's for sure. It's also illuminating to watch the way Chief Executive, Eric Schmidt interacts with Page: Schmidt is the hard-nosed business 'pro' and at various points in the Q&A comes across a little bit like Page's minder - there to make sure that Larry don't give away too many of Google's trade secrets.
Schmidt talks about the scale of the world market for Google's products, mentioning that whilst China is in most people's minds the largest potential audience - he thinks the biggest potential market to be India. He also talks of Google's 'culture of innovation' and articulates what he sees as the internet growth model repeating throughout Europe.
