Network and Data Centre

Designed and implemented for maximum resilience and redundancy our network is physically located at both Telehouse and RedBus InterHouse Data Centres in London with backup services located in Worcester.

Facilities include:

On - Site Carriers: Multiple carrier choice from the UK, European and Global Carriers

Physical Security : 24 x 7 monitoring by on-site personnel, proximity card reader access control, video camera surveillance and a security breach alarm.

Climate Control : To avoid machines overheating, down-flow air-conditioning units guarantee a stable temperature and humidity.

Fire Detection & Suppression : Intelligent fire detection and suppression systems using a combination of optical and ionization smoke detectors and suppression by a FM200 gas system.

Power : A 2-megawatt diverse power supply, backed up by a dedicated UPS and generator system. Should the National Grid fail the generators can maintain the power feed indefinitely, general fuel reserve of 24 hours at full load.

Data Backup : All hosting servers are backed up on a daily basis to an offsite location

DNS : Primary, Secondary and Tertiary DNS servers are run on independent networks in different physical locations.

Connectivity on Demand

The Network is always connected to the Internet backbone using at least three different providers currently MFN, Level 3 and NewNet.

Bandwidth is supplied on demand.

Connectivity is managed via the BGP4 protocol using Cisco Routers. This provides a high level of redundancy as, if one connection fails, the others automatically take over without any downtime.
