The Challenge:
Babyways were given a government grant to facilitate their new website Babyways.org. The site was to be a small informational based website with the option to call or email Babyways. Baby Ways wanted a W3C Compliant website to drive more business and to act as an information resource for mothers.
Background :
Baby Ways is a site offering breastfeeding services for parents, families and communities. It is run by two enthusiastic women in the form of Ann and Carolyn who both have vast experience in the sector.
Strategy:
Babyways.org is a clean information based website which is W3C compliant; so making content as clear as possible was a priority. The images featured in the site are a mixture of stockimages and personal images of babyways clients. They also wanted to use clients quotations and images to help create a personable feel to the site. Although this was babyways first web site, they had an existing brand which we used this as the basis for the colour scheme and graphic style.
Client Testimonial :
“We chose EASIserv because they were a Northampton web design firm and local to us, we were impressed by their website and found the information they provided for people like us who are not IT experts really useful. Before our initial meeting we were given a needs analysis document which encouraged us to think carefully about what sort of site we wanted, the purpose, look and features etc. Writing this down and agreeing between ourselves before we met the team at EASIserv helped us be clear about what we wanted.
Writing the copy was harder and more time consuming that we had imagined but easiserv were supportive throughout. It was in fact a really useful exercise to write down what the purpose of the organisation is and to say really clearly and simply what we do and how.
One of the trickiest parts of the design process for us was finding photographs that were suitable and reflected our ethos and the way we work as well as finding photos of ourselves that were of a good enough quality and not so embarrassing that we couldn’t look at them! A friend who is a professional photographer took photos we could use, to mix with some excellent stock photographs provided by easiserv. Throughout the web design process Chris was always ready with some constructive advice and was patient whenever changes were required.”
