The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown issued an unequivocal apology last night on behalf of the government to Alan Turing, the second world war codebreaker who took his own life 55 years ago after being sentenced to chemical castration for being gay.</description>

I saw a BBC TV programme some time ago(probably called The Code Breakers or something similar) that had Derek Jacobi playing the &#039;Turing&#039; character. I only watched it for the Bletchley Park location scenes as it&#039;s a place that I know quite well.</description>
